Publications
Jane Hampton Cook’s amazing ability to bring history to life is evident through her latest book, Stories of Faith and Courage from the Revolutionary War, a 365-day digest/devotional of America ’s quest for independence. One book reviewer praised her ability to “transform the theater-of-my mind” and noted: “Amazingly I was caught up in the sights, sounds, conversation and convictions of the colonists in such a manner that I thought I was there.” With the pace of a novel, the book reveals the miraculous story of the American Revolution, its political struggles, military strategy, and pulpit perspective from the viewpoints of George Washington, John Adams, Abigail Adams, John Witherspoon and about 20 other key players who lived loudly for liberty and gave birth to a nation.

Jane is a master at making connections between history and modern-day life. Her book, The Faith of America’s First Ladies, takes an insightful look at the first lady featured in an Old Testament Proverb (Proverbs 31) and shows the poem’s relevance to womanhood today through slice-of-life stories from the nation’s first ladies. Her first book highlights a centuries-old quality: bravery. Maggie Houston: My Father’s Honor is Civil-War era novel for preteens heralding the political courage of Texas Governor Sam Houston and his twelve-year-old daughter, Maggie.

Jane is thrilled to have the opportunity to share profound stories of courage from men and women who have served in Iraq and their families. She is coauthoring the upcoming book, Stories of Faith and Courage from Iraq (Battlefields & Blessings Series, 2009), with Dr. John Croushorn and Jocelyn Green.
